Why is Dad's phone sitting in a bowl of rice, you ask? I'll tell you... Last week Dad read in the newspaper about what to do if one drops their cell phone in water. (Unlike some members of the family) Dad has never needed to deal with this crisis... until Sunday afternoon. The recommended response to a cell phone in water is this:
- DON'T turn the cell phone on.
- IMMEDIATELY remove the battery.
- Pat DRY with a towel.
- Place all parts in a bowl of dry/uncooked rice. (The rice will absorb the moisture.)
- Let sit for a couple of days.

Dad followed these steps exactly and TA... DAAAA! We are back in business
muy perfecto!!
That is the report of our little tender mercy of the week.
That's totally cool! I dropped my cell phone in the pool a couple years ago and after a month or two it came back on its own. That's pretty nifty it worked so fast! We will remember that in case we ever have a unfortunate event like that.
ReplyDeleteDad is so happy and so blessed with this tender mercy - he loves that phone. What do with a wet phone had just been in the newspaper a day or two before that.
ReplyDeletewow I think I will need this little yet helpful piece of advice in the future! I honestly think cell phones breaking are the bane of my existence!
