The New Music Makers

I got to see YA's on Saturday, and it is certainly a fun show. The theme spans music from the 50's (All Shook Up) 60's (Jersey Boys) 70's (popular hits) 80's (weaker pop hits) 90's (pretty mod stuff) and then tons of broadway (my favorite.) They brought back a bit of old stuff, but I loved it all. They do broadway so well, and so I loved the Chorus Line bit, the Mamma Mia, the wicked, the revamped I Got Rhythm (sung by Miss Analeece) and the wonderful song from The Color Purple, sung by Miss Josie.
I'll admit I had moments of missing Circle of Life . . . I came to love love that show, and everybody in it, but this was a great experience that I thoroughly enjoyed. And speaking of new music makers  . . . literally, there was one person I certainly knew on stage: Mr. Stratford.

  1. Fun post Rachee. It is really nice to see that YA is as wonderful as ever. Good pics, did you take them?

Mom and Sarah and Dad went to a musical fireside tonite (which including sister Brooke White) and a lot of other wannabees. A dozen YA's (in this case standing for "young adults" from G7) bore a (supposed to be)5 minute testimony then sang a song... most self composed and accompanied. Oh boy... they were good, but I'm afraid the quality of song, writing and spirit of YA (Young Ambassadors) has spoiled us when it comes to that sort of thing. It was fun to hear the testimonies of 3 USC football players who were also on the program.
