DAD'S CORNY DAY

Only one, (1, un, uno, um) family member was around 336 to enjoy Dad's day of celebration in person - so the blog will share the highlights for one and all (almost as good as being there).
The birthday cheer actually started off the evening before -
  • Jason called to be the first with wishes (he needed to fly to Canada today so it would not be practical for him to call today... what a thoughtful boy.)
  • Under Dad's pillow was a pile of fun envelopes. One to open every hour (24). They contained very thoughtful notes and sentiments which mom had requisitioned from Dad's family and friends.
  • Sarah "woke-up" Dad with the traditional birthday parade, which featured the traditional petunias - the summer annuals for the front.
  • Then Sarah treated Dad to toast-poached eggs, on the red plate for breakfast.
  • Dad enjoyed Rachel's post and Robbie's post trumpeting the day.
  • On the drive to work Katie and Dallin called to sing and wish happiness on the day.
  • After work Dad was greeted with lighted birthday candle cupcakes from Sarah.
  • Robbie & Marybeth called with wishes and good cheer.
  • Dad opened some very thoughtful cards from Grandma and Rachel.
  • Then it was off to a dinner date with Sarah at - Yes Mom, we got the bread....
  • After dinner, Sarah and Dad walked over to a store a few shops over to see if the day would be perfected even more (see Cornwalls2).
  • Returning to 336 we enjoyed the cupcakes (woah Mom, they really ARE great!)
  • Rachel called with a final round of love and kindness.
  • Janice brought over the final fun gift and sweet card of the day -
