GOING?
We have kept some very sad news from the family. Yes, the 4th oldest addition to the family came down with a terminal malady several weeks ago. We nursed her and coddled for a few days. Even a few weeks of convalescing and TLC were to no avail. As one does these days when suddenly and unexpectedly afflicted with a debilitating condition, we searched on the internet for answers. Our research and several specialists confirmed - it looks like the dreaded failed Fuel Pump. One just has to face the fact...even the best give out eventually This seemed to be the end. As much as we love her, over $350 was more than our budget and wisdom could bear. And even at that, the quality of life ahead would still be in question.
After much thought and soul searching, there came a glimmer of hope from south of the border - a mail order pump for only $45. Maybe it would work. At least it gave us hope. It wouldn't be easy. The pump is mounted IN the gas tank, which meant a careful dissection to get to it.
Dr. Cornwall pulled out the old diseased fuel pump last Saturday afternoon. The new one was a perfect fit. Now, if the long still vehicle would accept the transplant.
The new pump assembly was slipped carefully back into place and the tank bolted to the underbelly of the old girl and all the vitals reconnected. What would be the result when we tried to revive her!?!?!?

That Is Amazing. Not only the superb fact that the wagon still roams this place we call Monrovia, but the analogy that accompanied the grand fulfillment! Way to go Dr. C. I hope to have some skills like that one day!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that this did not turn out to be an obituary. I was not in any way prepared for that.
