Donated blood for the first time.
Now my experience was not the most ideal. Being a first timer I didn't realize the necessity of drinking water ahead of time. (Mom you can stop now) So I got checked out fine iron, and everything else is great, but when I am laying on the comfy cot the woman working on me asked me how much water I had consumed and it was pretty low. She decided to carry on anyway but to my dismay I laid there for around 30 minutes squeezing a stress ball that definitely didn't releave stress. But I was able to my part, after a long experience, to donate my blood.
I get a little woozy just hearing the words stress ball. Way to go SARAH!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an articulate description of blood giving! I'll admit I only experience absolute exhilaration at the prospect of pumping my living fluids!
ReplyDeletecongrats! that is such a cool act of service.
ReplyDelete"Sometimes I like to walk in off the street and give blood. . ." from a poem by Carol Lynn Pearson.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy giving blood - it's something concrete I can do for others.
Good for you!
Sarah, It was fun to see you so excited that morning in anticipation of donating some good Cornwall blood. I hope you are as excited the NEXT time.
ReplyDeleteWay to go Sarah. I will admit that is never something that I enjoy and I am always close to passing out.
