Goin' On A Bear Hunt

We got an interested call this morning at 6:30. It was the Monrovia Police Department. They wanted to confirm that we lived at 336 North Ivy. I said yes I do - and the dispatcher said that she wanted to let me know there were several armed police officers in our back yard because they had spotted a bear running down our driveway!!!!! I of course ran downstairs, dad of course ran to get dressed - we think so differently. When I came down I saw several officers cautiously walking around the backyard with huge rifles drawn. They looked in the playhouse, in the garbage/recycling opening, behind the garage and then they split up coming down both sides of the house toward the front. I ran to the front door and there were four or five police cruisers with 4 or 5 more police officers all with huge rifles standing in front of our house. I was trying to listen to what to what they were saying while staying cautiously inside - they talked about watching the bear take off fast, not finding it, then they all got in their police cars and left. I don't get it - a bear runs down our driveway. They never see it leave - and yet they leave???? Rachel darted out a few minutes later to get the newspaper - under the peril of her life - but we are all a little nervous to leave. I didn't have the presence of mind to get the camera - or I was to intrigued by the whole thing - but just to let you know that bear at the top of the page - is from Google image!!!

  3. Oh my goodness! That is craziness! Had they been tracking the bear from earlier or did they just happen to pass by the house and see it run in? Yikes! Robb loved the post! We had a lot of fun reading it!
