Unbelievable!!!

The "D WALK" challenge has been taken to an entire new level. It all began a few minutes ago when I went to get something out of the van and noticed that the Camry was in the garage. Rachel had just gotten home from summer school and I supposed that she and Dad had arranged to swap - maybe dad was getting something new for the wagon. I looked in front of the house and the wagon was parked on the street so I called dad's cell phone. I asked him. Why didn't you take the Camry to work today? He replied "I didn't need it." I then asked how he got to work and then he uttered those words that will go down in history "I WALKED!!!" I could not would not believe him, but folks it is true - your dad walked to work today - oh yes - along Foothill Boulevard. He said that it was 16,000++ steps - I am in shock and awe. Way to go dad. (He did say he was planning on walking home - but that he might enjoy someone picking him up.)

  1. WOW! That is incredible! How long did it take to walk to work! Great job! I think you should get extra points for that! I can't wait to see the numbers tomorrow!

  2. Good work on the map Mom.

p.s. Hey! I thought there could be at least ONE day you don't cream me with your high numbers.
p.p.s. And, when others (with initials REC and SLC) are dropping into Cinderella's Castle moat from exhaustion I want to be in the lead, swooping my arm forward, calling out "Come-on men (and women) forward, onward...!"

  5. I have been checking in with dad periodically to see when I could come and get him - and Rachel was planning on going to Paseo with Rachel J. He kept saying that he wasn't quite ready, wasn't quite ready, and now he is walking home!!!!
