FLOWER POWER

Dad is enjoying watering the Mother's Day petunias a little more this afternoon. Why you ask?

Here's the reason why: As most of the fam knows - 2 weeks ago some critter(s) came by night and uprooted every single newly planted plant. Each one was painstakingly replanted the next day. Late that night two frolicking raccoons were spotted scampering in the vicinity. A couple nights later the pair were spotted again. Some days later 3/4s of the petunias were carefully pulled out and set to the side by this unwelcome night critter. Again each was carefully replanted.

Then LAST night getting home from our walk to the Ward we came to the back porch to be greeted by a little SKUNK. Whoa! Tip toe back away. Maybe this is the unwelcome night critter. So this morning? Half the petunias are uprooted again. And who/what is responsible? A frisky racccoon? A stinky skunk? No! It appears to be a big old snarly possum.

So why is Dad enjoying watering his AGAIN replanted and stunted petunias? Well, let's just say he is. And he is not playing possum!

  1. Dad,

I don't think those flowers could have been planted in "a better place." Just a guess, but I am pretty sure the possum might also not be able to be in a better place than it already is.

  3. Do you still have the trap, sounds like it needs some more use. The only problem with the trap is that they can't go and warn their friends and family, once they are caught it is the end of the road. Maybe that might be part of the plan for the future, but I have to admit I admire you stick-to-itiveness. They look great, I am sure home depot, Walmart or other stores are grateful

Who said anything about a trap? A trap? What trap? We just persuade.
