The magic of that hair do called a Gibson Girl
STEP:1
Put on make-up (because once they start on my hair my face isn't visible.)
Step 2
Start to tease and rat my hair!!! (It was my favorite part.)
Step 3
Now I look like a rock and roll star!!!
Step 4
Then we start to comb it over a rat.
Step 5
Then we put unteased hair over the rat so it looks smooth.
Step 6
The final product. In person no one could believe that it was my own hair.
Yes is was a little bit of a sacrifice on my part because most of my hair ended up in the trash can after I brushed out all the teasing. I also used a whole bottle of conditioner throughout the run. Lets just say I am glad my hair doesn't have to go through that everyday anymore.
The hair really was AMAZING. Katie definitely would have made a stunning "Gibson Girl" in that era - until, of course her hair was all pulled out.
ReplyDeleteI love the behind the scenes-special features!!! This reminds me of the Phantom transformation in the book we have of the phantom of the opera. I love it!
ReplyDeleteAh, Rach, one thing about your comparison. The Phantom transformation was taking a good looking actor and making him look hideous.
