RUFF-N-TUMBLE RUGBY

What could be more fun on a visit to L.A. than going to a rugby game? Dallin spent Friday night with us back at the Monrovia ranch after an intern interview and before flying out the next morning. Mom's seminary student, Anthony Carlson was playing on the Dana field. We Cornwall's have spent many Saturdays spectating (soccer) games on that field in past years. Rugby is a very aggressive sport! We were amazed to hear that Anthony had not had any injuries. Then we found out this was really their first game. Then, as we left we saw Anthony on the sidelines with ice on his shoulder. Then we found out (Dallin don't chuckle too hard), unfortunately, Anthony went to the hospital later for a broken collar bone and finger. Yeah, it's a rough sport. Glad all you kids did soccer.

  1. Boy is hospitality abundant on Ivy Ave. Thank you so much for letting me stay with you. I really enjoyed it. The games, rugby and Chinese checkers, were a lot of fun.(Mom I still feel bad about being so mean.)

I am so sorry about the broken bones. My only question is whether or not the knowledge of the broken bones has any impact on rugby being Rachel's new favorite sport?

  2. Dallin - thanks for thinking us taking you to the rugby game of one of my seminary students was hospitable. Some may have thought it was torture. We are glad that you are interested in EVERYTHING!!! Poor Anthony - it is really taking him out of some other important activities in his life - but it will make a great story in a year or two.
