There was a Blaze in the Garden, and we were no Benchwarmers

I can finally say that I have been to the "Worlds Foremost Outfitter" Cabela's it was a very fun store with a lot of very interesting things that you could purchase for almost any occasion. We did stop by the Aquarium, and it was really fun. They had everything from Guns, "Stuffed Animals" to things to play with in the lake. Some take to the store rather nicely. The best part is when I saw a Man with a Camoflaouge onesie for his son or daughter that was the best.
Next we did a really fun thing, we went to an AFL game to watch the Utah Blaze play. They are part of the Area Football League and they play in the delta center. I didn't know what to expect, but I got a free voucher for students from someone at work and decided that I couldn't pass up the opportunity. It was really fun and the field is only 50 yds. long so there is a lot of scoring and action. We had as good as seats as we paid for them, but we had a great time. A scalper with a "I need Tickets" sign around his neck wanted to take this for us.
They had a a lot of fun things there such as this giant football helmet and giving out free Blaze footballs and such. It was really fun
We got the tickets early to get the best seat that we could for the game and then walked up to temple square to look around as well as get something to eat. We choose the Garden and it was so much fun. The coolest thing is they "put the top down" the roof was open and I never knew that could happen, it was so fun.

These were some of the food items that we purchased at the garden. Can you guess who got what? Well I got the lovely display on the left while Marybeth got what you can see on the right. It was the first time that Marybeth finished her meal since I have known her, but as you can see she could have probably eaten the whole thing in one bite. It was very tasty.

We enjoyed watching the game. There are a lot of rules that are different such as only 8 players on the field at one time. The coaches stand inside the field and talk with the players. The best is the kick off. As you can imagine the kicker can easily kick it the length of the field so they set the ball up at the goal line and kick it away. Every time it was kicked it hit the mesh screen at the back of the endzone and it is live, so you have to catch it off of the net and then play on. One time a player was not able to get it after it took a weird bonce and the opposing team grabbed in and scored. It was really fun.
Here is a picture to get a feel of what the game was like inside! you might also notice that the uprights are a little narrower then in the NFL or College. I think that I got my moneys worth on this game.
Here is Marybeth having a little fun just outside of a Mexican Resturaut. Then to finish the night off we went to go see the Newly Released movie The Benchwarmers it was very funny, and Jon Heder is very much nerdy in the movie. All in all I had a good night. I am really tired so until next time. That is enough Robblog for now.

  2. I'm looking for dad - we are all in the car and I just happened to re-check to see if the front door was locked and there is dad sitting at the computer with the biggest smile on his face ever. Then I heard tap tap tap and knew he had to comment on something on the blog. He told me I had to read about the greatest date ever. I would call it the Mega date. Our goal was to leave at 7:00 - so we are a little behind - but it is so worth it to check in on that wonderful post. Thanks Robb!!! We'll call you this morning.
