Buehners

Lenore and Joanne
This last week we were able to go to Arizona.  We were so thrilled to be able to make a visit to Lenore's sister Joanne Buehner.  Her husband Walt had passed away a few weeks ago when Robb and Marybeth were in California and we were unable to travel to the funeral.  Lenore was the first born to Maude and Kenneth Neeley and Joanne was second.  You can tell from these picture that they were very close.

Joanne and Lenore (I see a bit of Elizabeth in Lenore!!)

Lenore and Joanne (In this picture I think Lissy looks more like Joanne than Lenore)

Lenore and Joanne were married within six weeks of each other.  Oh boy - Busy time for the Neeleys.  The Cornwalls and the Buehners began to have children the same age and did lots of fun activities together.

Joanne and Walt Buehner

Do you remember Walt?  He was a gem of a man.  He did many amazing things and he was known for his great kindness, story telling and love of family, but I remember that he had a soft-serve ice cream maker in his family room and you got to make as many and as big of cones as you would like when you visited their house.

Fun picture of the Cornwalls and the Buehners.  Dave is the baby, a tiny one at that.  Jon Cornwall and Jim Buehner would join the family soon.  Don't know where the picture was taken.  (Any help dad?)  Love the pink washer though, and dad's glasses.
They were such close cousins that Dad and I traveled to Arizona to attend Jody Buehner's marriage to Randy Clawson in 1979, a few weeks after dad and I were married.  Can you see dad's longish hair and my permed hair.  Boy do Shirl and Lenore look tan.  Grandpa could always rock a baby blue suit.

  1. Very fun post. I see some young Sarah in the photo of Joanne (with Lenore on the horse). How fun.

  3. Great photos! Thank you for sharing them. What a fun trip down memory lane... The photo of our family with Buehner children was taken inside back door at 2591 Gregson Avenue. The pink washing machine was mom's, before it was moved downstairs and Dad built in the storage cupboards.
