1213 was only 12 years young when Lenore and Shirl moved their family of 8 children from Utah over Christmas break in 1969. For the next 45 years it was the Cornwall home and gathering place to multiplying numbers of a foster daughter, spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The house and the loving warmth of Dad/Grandpa and Mom/Grandma provided a bond that no matter the distance any family member traveled they were always drawn home to dine, celebrate and reconnect. Next to a mother and father's unfailing love, perhaps this very fine house was the most wonderful gift to maintain a bond of a diversifying family. The 9 children raised there could not have imagined the draw of this place and appreciation of the parents who "stretched" to afford it four and half decades ago. It was a gift that gave so much and so often for so long, its affect and memories are not likely to fade as now it's place for Cornwall gathering has come to an end.
Thanks to mom for the picture taking.
The last, of a thousand family photos, taken in front of the fireplace.

The end of a very very very nice era.
ReplyDeleteThat last photo broke my already broken heart. It's still hard to believe it's really gone. Wendy will never get to experience that home.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the pictures. Love you guys!
