Bon Apetite!

Anyone Can Cook is the theme of Pixar's movie Ratatouille, but No-one is as cute of a rat as our Wendy. Likewise, No-one can sew an amazing Remy costume from scratch (without a pattern) like Reesa can. Simply looking online at a sleeper tutorial for reference, she constructed the body and added mittens, a tail and contrasting fabric on the belly. The cap was made with the help of a bonnet pattern which wouldn't be complete with a pair of pink ears. We collaborated in regards to construction and size/shape. Reesa just whipped up this adorable costume for Wendy, which everyone at our ward party was shocked to find was handmade.  In addition Reesa sewed our matching chef houndstooth pants.

We had a myriad of ideas for this year. Many seemed better suited for a larger cast while others were not as Wendy-focused as we'd like.  This became the perfect fit for our family of three. And who doesn't want to see Wendy in a little rat costume? Just look at those whiskers and pink nose. Although a bit sleep-deprived, our Little Chef was such a trooper during the photo shoot taken on location at Communal and the alley near Los Hermanos.

We LOVE this family tradition. It is so fun to see the unity of individual families as well as the whole Cornwall clan

  1. Ah... like a reservation at a fine French restaurant, one looks forward to the day and the hour when their senses will enjoy that which is served. Such has been the case, looking forward to, and then the realization of, this very evening. Oh, what enjoyment there has been for a feast of creativity, craft, setting and fun. Bravo to Wendy's debut and her supporting culinary cast.

  2. Oh my goodness where do I start. I guess I have to start with that cute rat. I would never have thought a Rat could be so adorable. The costume is amazing #sewimadeacostume. And she looks so cute in it. I had to go back and look at all the pictures again because I found myself focusing on Wendy in each picture. Next Reesa. I must say you look very darling with short dark hair. The detail in your costume is spot on. The one thing I can't do is picture you as the actual character because you are way to nice to boss people around. However I can picture Jeff in his Role as the clumsy boy around the kitchen. I like the poses in your individual shots. Both your costumes are great and the pants #sewimadesomepants are perfect. Then lastly is location. No matter where you took your pictures you would have looked amazing but taking them in the restaurant and in the ally was a great idea on location. You guys have high standards to live up to each year. But that just makes me look forward to your future Halloween posts. Thank you so much.

  3. I agree with Robb - The costumes are amazing, awesome, adorable, but coupled with the photo shoot location - INCREDIBLE!!! I think the attention to detail is part of the reason for the greatness - the shoes!!!!, the pants, long aprons, hat and WIG!!!!. I think on Wendy's costume - my favorite part is the perfect ears - color and placement. The cap just frames her head so perfectly. The pink nose - can't get enough of it. Jeff, you are a perfect Linguini. Why haven't I thought of the resemblance before??? Reesa - this costumes confirms - you have the most beautiful face!! So fun - Looking forward to many many more years of costumes for the JeffCorns.
