Well I have never been to MOAB and now I can say that I have seen MOAB from a distance because our family took a day trip to ARCHES. Dallin visited ARCHES all the time growing up and has been excited to take me for years.
The kids did great and thought everything was so cool because of Dallin's enthusiasm about the arches, red rocks, and balancing rocks.
The weather was perfect and the blue skies were gorgeous.
Hannah did great
We knew we wanted to visit Delicate Arch and Dallin was wise to do it at the beginning of the day when legs were fresh and before it got too hot. It is over 3 miles round trip. Some of the trail is on the edge of a cliff. The kids thought it was so cool but I was a little nervous, but we did it. Many people were very impressed that we made it to the top with all four kids.
I have seen many pictures and replicas of Delicate Arch so I wasn't expecting to be too impressed but I was blown away. It is amazing and you really just have to see it to understand.

Tunnel Arch
Pine Arch
Landscape Arch
The kids enjoyed the Arches but I think their favorite was the red sand. "What a fun sandbox!!!" was a comment we received over and over again.
Double Arch
It was a fun and exhausting day. Our family sure enjoyed the beauty of Arches.
Beautiful pictures of a beautiful place (and a beautiful family). Glad you took the time and made the effort!! Absolutely love the picture of Dallin and Hannah!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a lovely day. Way to go you hardy Anderson kids... and parents carrying Anderson kids. Great photos of dramatic arch wonders.
ReplyDeleteYou are the coolest family. I am so impressed you hiked all the way to delicate arch with your kids. And your photos are gorgeous! Jeff and I have been oo-ing and aw-ing over them.
ReplyDeleteThe Andersons are hardy folks. Reesa and I are jealous of your Southern Utah adventure. We want to head there soon.
