Seattle

Jeff and I were fortunate enough to be able to make a trip out to Washington for a few days this past week (both to take care of some business and see the Tirrells). Reesa's mother and little sister were kind enough to pick us up from the airport first thing Wednesday morning. Our first stop was to the heart of Seattle: Pike Place Market. It's not a trip to the Northwest without a stop to the market. The vendors hadn't even set up yet we were so early. However, we did get a lovely breakfast of scones and muffins at a cute little shop. After perusing the market and meandering around the boardwalk, we hopped over a few blocks to visit the Seattle Art Museum (SAM). One of the current exhibitions was entitled "Ancestral Modern: Australian Aboriginal Art". It was an interesting mix of modern art with a strong influence of the Aboriginal culture. We thoroughly enjoyed this exhibit along with other artworks in the museum. We were able to do all of this by noon. It was a most splendid morning spent in Seattle!

  1. I am so glad I picture perfectly the scene at Pike's Place Market, the Sound, etc... Oh, that looks like a good little trip for the two of you before you hunker down to THE routine.
