My art teaching position at Edgemont Elementary school is funded by a grant via the Beverly Taylor Sorensen Arts Learning Program (or BTS-ALP for short). They fund 55 elementary arts educators in the state of Utah including Visual Arts, Dance, Music, and Drama. The grants are mainly funded by the Utah State Legislature but also privately from Beverly Taylor Sorensen herself. Since it is partially funded by the legislature, funding is not a guarantee each year. The legislature annually revises how much funds will be allocated to the program. In preparation for a possible decrease in funding, the BTS-ALP has asked that parent volunteers from each school request donations/fundraise in order to SAVE their art programs. In addition to asking for donations from local businesses, the parents from my school are selling popcorn. They asked me to create a poster for their popcorn stand. This is what I came up with:
Get me some of that corn.

Wow in a way that is pretty cool that you have a lot of parents behind you trying to keep you and the program around. Who better than to ask an art teacher to make a poster for the cause. Bennett loves popcorn so let us know how we can get some
ReplyDeleteThe last name Cornwall is one of a kind. We hope a lot of Popcorn is sold.
