AND SO IT BLOWS

UPDATE - POWER IS RESTORED TO 336 SUNDAY BETWEEN 10-11 A.M. YAHOO! It's good to have occasion to appreciate the simple, everyday things in life that are so easy to take for granted. p.s. . .Sorry, Mom, no more romantic candlelit dinners for a while....

Even tho' winds have been forecast for the past several days there have been only some gusts of breeze in and round 336. Days are pleasant but 366 remains in an area without electrical service throughout Saturday and into Sunday morning.
SCE was working diligently up on Hillcrest all day Saturday.
This is the suspect of our local power outage. A large tree on the corner of Encinitas and Hilcrest. It took down power lines and a pole on the corner.
With 18 eggs in the warming refrigerator it seemed like a good morning for a big, hearty scrambled egg breakfast. For the fun, feast Mom broke out her new Coleman stove she just got for her birthday. It worked great and hot eggs were scrumptious. We also used it for tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner and heating hot chocolate just before bed.The rest of Saturday was spent cleaning up and putting things back together. Nothing too serious....
For Sunday morning, Mom and Dad made a quick jaunt into the office.... thus, this post was made and thus... Mom's hair could get blow dryed. 2 of the 4 meetinghouses in the Stake remain without power - Monrovia and the Stake Center. So Duarte is sharing with Monrovia and Temple City and the Chinese unit will go up to the Foothill building for their services.

  1. WOW. I hope that the days (hours) are numbered without power. From somone that has been there and done that I feel for you and hope you get power soon. But with the obvious down sides you two sure seem to be enduring well with your lanterns as well as the coleman stove. Its just like a real fancy campout.

And mom I don't know if you gave persimission for the picture or not but way to document what you guys are having to deal with
