Disclaimer:
I have been having trouble getting this video to save on our computer through WMM. We are low on Memory and tried everything for a few months to fix that. To make a long story short I just wanted to get it posted so I cut up the 1 video into 4 videos. So you can quickly click to the next one and it will be as if it was just one video. P.S. This is meant to be more of a documentary than a quick highlight video.

So This video(s) represents what I have been working on for the last 2 years. I have kept it on the DL for the most part, I wanted to set a goal and I and then try and accomplish it.

I always finished a run with the Titans Spirit song. I would try and time it or skip to it with a mile or so left. It is what helped me to finish strong on every run. I just tried to picture myself finishing the Half Marathon. So it was only fitting to put that as the song in the video. My goal was to finish the Race under 1 hour 50 mins. I was stunned to realize my time as I was running the race. My official time was 1:41.58 I had a hard time getting my per mile time under 8 mins but I avg. 7:49/min and came in 71st out of 400+ runners. you can check out the race results here.

None of this would/could have been possible without the support of my cute and fun wife. She let me leave the house and go for a run 3 days a week for a long time, and would always make time for it even when we had a conflict. She took pretty much all the footage in the videos and cheered me on every mile. I love her and I am grateful for all she did for me throughout my training.

  1. Heres my disclaimer on this video: First Off it was really only 16 months and would have been 4 months had I remembered to register him for the half marathon in Utah before the deadline. Plus he took a huge hiatus in there with our move to CT, and Bennett's arrival. Next his time was incredible, especially after you take the extra time off from the gun shot until he crossed the start line. I think he beat his goal by like 9 minutes (I can't even run 1 mile in 9 minutes). Anyway it was all very impressive, and he even got second place in his age group for his first race, figures!! We are so proud of Robbie. It takes a lot of stamina to run that far and train that much. WOO HOO! Go Robbie! Bennett is very proud as well!

  2. Wow that is amazing. I knew you were running marathons but I did not connect them all together. Robbie you are the sweetest, most hardworking, and dedicated brother a sister can have. The music you used in the last video made me cry and I am really glad Kelsie didn't see me. Those videos are just amazing and so wonderful. I enjoyed every second of them. Robbie you do not get enough credit for everything that you do. You are an amazing human being and this is just part of that. WOW,WOW, WOW is all I can say. I am glad all the hard work paid off.

  4. Wow Wow Wow Wow WOW! I felt like I was in on this thing having witnessed/photographed events, and I was still blown away by how much you did Robb plus compiling this whole video. It turned out even better then I thought. Great editing, great music choices (esp Titans), great filming MB. I think my favorite part was the Utility Belt explanation. Way to go Batman! Congrats!

  5. This is certainly what blogs are made for - to celebrate the efforts, accomplishments and joys of great things that a family member has done. Great job Robb. Great goal. Great perseverance and dedication. Great willingness to proceed rain or shine. Great stretch to the finish line.

Loved the video... actually it was good to have it divided into 4 acts. It kept you wanting to click on the next one to see more. Really great documentary of the journey and the destination. Applause to the videographer(s), photographer(s), editor and music compiler.

Robb, you ARE blessed with a very supportive, cute wife... and, toward the end of your training, little, fun Bennett. Congratulations to the whole fam. I'll always REMEMBER THE RUN.

  8. Robbie, WOW, WOW, WOW. I obviously need to talk to you more because I had no idea. What a great accomplishment. I am sure if felt so good to set a goal and achieve it. You are a very impressive runner.

Elizabeth and I sat and watched each video and she is at the why stage and you can imagine how many questions she asked.

    Why is Robbie running?
    Why is he still running?
    Who is in the car?
When is he going to stop running?
I want to run with Robbie when I get bigger?
    There's Uncle Jeff?
Is he going to run again? (after the race was finished.)
She even got emotional at the end.

WE LOVE YOU AND ARE SO PROUD OF YOU. IF YOU NEED SOME NEW RUNNING SHOES LET US KNOW!!!!
