AVG has come out with a 2011 update. Click on the above to download from CNET.
  • Click DOWNLOAD
  • After it downloads click RUN
  • Click ACCEPT
  • Click FREE VERSION (NOT "Free Trial")
  • UNCHECK Yahoo Toolbar (i.e. don't install it)
It will take a long time to load - 111 MB
  • You will be asked to restart you COMPUTER - do that
  • When computer restarts click UPDATE NOW on the left
It will ask you to "UPGRADE". Do NOT click anything that says UPGRADE. You are "up dating" the free version. Upgrade is for the paid version.
It will ask you if you want to do a 'P.C. TUNE-UP". Do NOT click this. It is a lure to get you into the paid version.
