How to Celebrate Cesar Chavez Day

Since Sarah and I had a day off school and seminary we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather. We had decided previously to walk to the falls, but in order to save $5.00 we decided to walk from the lower parking lot - by the ticket booth. Well - since I have never done that before I was surprised to see that parking in that parking lot also cost $5.00. Sarah, that brave soul, suggested that we park on Canyon and walk the near mile to the ticket booth and then walk the 1 3/4 mile to the waterfall. We did it and were quite proud of ourselves. We went on a "new to us" trail and enjoyed the sights and sounds of our own Monrovia Canyon Park. We enjoyed chatting along the way and have committed to a couple of things. Our next goal - walking from the house (that has always been one of my goals) and in celebration of all the Cornwalls being accepted to BYU - HIKE THE "Y" when we take Sarah up this summer. Let the training begin. Join us???

  1. If I am in Provo I am in. I have only hiked the Y once when I was pregnant with Elizabeth.
