I couple weeks ago was the Art Ed show. It was up for just under two weeks and was on the 5th floor of the HFAC. It was really fun. Here is the flyer that I made for the show:
I had two pieces in the show. The first won an honorable mention. It is a photo triptych.
The second was my installation. I got two birds with one stone on this one because it also counted for an assignment for my installation class. I collected quarter sheet flyers for a year and invited others to do so as well. The piece is about social stigmas and interacting with strangers, going out of your comfort zone. Viewers were invited to break through the curtain and enter inside the space. I also documented via video both an acceptance and a rejection of people's petitions. Those videos were playing on loop.

I am finally getting your vision of this event. You have told me about it multiple times - but the pictures make everything make sense. GREAT concept - beautiful execution.
ReplyDeleteI think I get it. But even if not, it sure looks cool. Good job Jeffers. I bet it caught a lot of people's interest.
