So the folks here at the University Villa were trying to decide what to do for Pioneer Day. I suggested we make some pies, meat and fruit. Jared chimed in, "Oh a PIE-oneer party?" That settled it. We would have a PIE-0neer party. The main bakers were Nicole, the new girl, myself and Rach helped a bit as well. We made two meat pies, one chicken one pork, as well as a blueberry and rhubarb pie. We invited a few friends over. It was a fun get-together to celebrate the day.
Nicole me, slaving away.
Mmm, Pie
I had everyone put on a Bandana.
Whitney, her roommate Railyn, and silly Jared.
Pork Boot Meat Pie
Chicken Wheel Meat pie
Rhubarb Ox Pie
Blueberry Utah Pie
It was delicious if I don't say so myself
That's one of the best activities I've ever heard of - a Pie-oneer Party. Those were good, good lookin' pies Jeff. And how did they taste? Oh, you clever, fun kids.
ReplyDeleteIt was very delicious. As you can see my mouth is full of pie in that picture! What can you do? I must say I am really benefiting from Jeffs Pie baking talent!
ReplyDeleteThat would make two of us benefitting from the pie-biz. Love it. And I can indeed corroborate that the pies were in fact a savory bit of kolob . . . and if you could hie there . . . in the twinkling of an eye . . . you'd taste a little bit of these pies.
ReplyDeleteI told Jeffrey that he ought to get a Pie-oneer trademark - but he said he would have to share with Jared - but I thought it was a great idea. My boy - the pie maker. I hope that he will bake for me when I see him in person.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea. You have inspired me to experiment more with pies. We might need to copy your idea next year.
