On the night of July 17, Eight brave souls set out to hike Mt. Timpanogos. Mt. Timpanogos rises to an elevation of 11,749 ft. and is the second highest mountain in Utah. The hike is eight miles from the trail head increasing a mile in elevation. This journey, I discovered, is not for the faint of heart. It tests both the body and mind. The adventure began at 1:00 am on July 18th. Five hours later, we made it to the top to see the sun rise. Then a three hour hike back down. It was SO challenging but very fulfilling and fun. I feel that such an Epic event deserves an Epic post (especially when you just got an amazing camera and you are really excited to use it!)

I can't walk and I've yet to sleep since I had to go to work right when we got back. That is what I'm going to do RIGHT NOW! Goodnight.
Obviously there's more to Timp than the caves - looks like a great adventure - and some great photography too!
ReplyDeleteIs Everest next on your list??
Epic is well stated Jeffers. What an epic adventure. And your photo captions were well stated too. I could tell when I first clicked on our blog and before I saw the poster that there was a fine quality to the photography. I guess that camera is all it's cracked up to be. Way to go Jeff - to see the mountain - to climb the mountain - to conquer the mountain.
ReplyDeletep.s. Did you go up the back side? You know, where we always see the glacier driving down past Deer Creek?
Wow - I am so impressed. Loved the documentation of an EXCELLENT ADVENTURE.
ReplyDeleteWow Jeffers!!! It looks like a grand time with a fun bunch of friends. Your pictures are beautiful. They make one feel as if they were there.
