Still at the Hospital

As much as Jason and I want to go home Jarom thinks the hospital is fun so we are here for at least another 6 hours (UGH!) This morning to doctor thought he looked a little jaundice and so he got his biliubin tested and it was too high to pass the go home test. Right now he has to "cook" in the lights for 6 hours and then get his blood tested again. We really hope that by then his levels will have dropped and we can get home.

  1. Oh boy... it's a bit tough to come into this world. But we are glad they are taking good, conscientious care of the little guy. Hope the rest of the Jas Cornwalls are doing well.

  2. So obviously i had to look up what bilirubin is and what it does. For those who wish to learn it is a cellular antioxidant which is excreted in bile out of the gallbladder into the Liver (a little anatomy coming out there). Anyways. When the liver does not process bilirubin properly it can cause Jaundice. Jaundice is the yellowing discoloration of the skin and other tissues. It is what makes some bruises yellowish. Another quick fact is that those who intake toxins such as alcohol or tobacco have weaker livers resulting in Jaundice in skin and eyes(gross). So there is your anatomy lesson for the day. I just have to say in my particular field of art that those pictures are sa-weet. Jarom looks so cool illuminated in blue. Hopefully he will come home soon.

  3. Although I feel bad that he has to be under those blue lights he does look pretty cute and cool as Jeff said. They are fun pictures

  4. Takes after his dad - Jason had to be under the lights a little while - but he was naked and didn't have the cool shades (thus no picture).

  6. Ah, the curse of jaundice - I have certainly traveled that road. But when Bonny was born, they brought her to me with her eyes bandaged - and no explanation. I was sure she was blind!! It was a traumatic experience. Thankfully I asked about it!!

And the blue light shots are somewhat enchanting!!

  7. I thought I'd be so original and comment on the artistry of these photos, and as I have no advice/life experience/trivia to share with everyone, it looks as though I will have to stand by that observation, despite how unoriginal it may be.

  8. Yes, Jaundice is a curse for the little ones. All of my children have been at the "Huntington Memorial Beach" basking in the lights. Some longer than others, but all have had a bout with it. Let's hope that you can get it taken care of before you go home. It's no fun to have then re-admitted for it. Myles had to stay two days by himself with it, and Lydia was there for two extra days for jaundice. Hope you are all doing well otherwise.
