Dad took me on quite a wonderful Valentine excursion yesterday. We drove down to the San Diego temple where we attended a lovely session. There is hardly a Celestial Room like that temple. Dad invited me to one of the balcony's where he presented me with my wedding ring with some beautiful additions. (It is hard to take picture of really shiny rings!!!) Until you see it in person this will have to do. It is so beautiful and I was so excited - beautiful setting - temple and ring - fantastic husband!!! Perfect Valentine's Day. It was followed up by a delicious dinner at an San Diego exclusive cafe.
Wow, that ring is gorgeous. Dad good work. Mom you deserve such a beautiful ring.
ReplyDeleteBling! Bling! All the girls on the BYU campus would be eyeing that ring that you have. Sounds like a very fun day and night. I can't wait to see it in the flesh.
ReplyDeleteBling Bling is right...man Robbie you read my mind..P.S. You should have been studying at that time. Anyway I am glad you had fun at that amazing temple too. Robbie and I were able to go to the Provo temple yesterday...what a perfect day for that! I can't wait to see it in person.
ReplyDeleteWow!! How fun to get some extra sparkle on your ring. What a fun Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the comments fam!!! I am not a real jewelry loving gal - but I love this and dad will have to tell you about the special symbolism of the piece.
ReplyDeleteSYMBOLISM... Everyone it seems has read the post and the comments so this may not be seen by too many eyes to fulfill Mom's request (but I do everything Mom says even if I think it too late to do any good).
ReplyDeleteMom's original engagement ring was a single band. When married a second interconnected band was added. The set had a single center stone with two diamond "chips" on each side. We never got the two bands welded over the years like we should have. And the two little chips were "lost" years ago.
The NEW ring has the two side "chips" replaced. These two stones symbolize two individuals, coming together and forming a family - a unit - symbolized by the main center stone. The two "chips" have grown a little from the original 29 years ago - in fact we have grown a little approaching our 30th year. Then there are two more chips added on each side symbolizing that two generations have been added to the original unit. A gold band was added to each side of the original worn thin bands as we approach starting our 4th decade together. And it sparkles just like our great family does, more and more each day.
So there you have it more than you probably wanted to know.
Ooo I love it! Thats so romantic. I love symbolism. Thanks so much for posting and sharing. That is very sweet
