A big day in New England

Monday was a big day around here, there was something in the air, if you are not from around here, or are just out of it then you would be lost. But for the rest of the world, and those that catch on quickly, I am in this category, it was the Big opening day for the BOSTON RED SOX!!!!
We celebrated by playing out side in the rain (slight drizzle) and some cold. We rotated pitching, catching and hitting, no need for outfield Harley the dog had that covered. Well he had every position covered. He was handy to have around.
In honor of the big day, everyone wanted to watch it. Since we have cable, we all went to our apt. and watch the big game. It is not seen very well but Maryanne, Kari, (the one next to me) and myself are all sporting our Red Sox best, we had a yummy dinner too
At stop n shop you can wear Red Sox gear instead of your Uniform and Caitlin did just that, so they really get excited around here for the game. The did not win, in fact they got creamed but they won the last 2 games and are doing well. I would not say I am a die-hard and buy yankee toliet paper (see Fever Pitch) or blow life savings on Season tickets, but I do enjoy it.

  1. That's okay to be a Red Sox fan Robb. The Dodgers aren't doing anything to make you feel close to them or get excited other than if you are just a generic baseball fan.

  2. I must say that I have been checking the Red Sox results every day in the newspaper since Monday. I may become a big fan myself - the only good thing about the Dodgers these days is Vin Scully. If he were to transfer to Boston it would seal my loyalty forever.
